Hi everyone!
We have a few quick updates to share with you all today regarding the lettering for the Remastered Edition, new Zorro comics announcements, and a new Valiant Comics Kickstarter campaign!
Lettering Update - Remastered Edition
After reviewing backer feedback and spending more time with the amazing pages for the Zorro stories, we have some news: We will not be re-lettering the artwork and will be sticking with the original lettering for both the Remastered and Indisputable Editions!
We believe this is the best thing for the book and look forward to going to print later this month.
New Zorro Projects Announced at NYCC!
We kicked off last week's New York Comic Con with the announcement of two new Zorro comic book mini-series launching in 2026!
The first mini-series, titled ‘Zorro’, will launch in April 2026 from the team of comics legend Howard Chaykin and super star artist Jorge Fornés. The series will follow Don Diego de la Vega as the crime-fighting Avenger faces off against Napoleon Bonaparte forces in a showdown for the ages.
‘Zorro’s Legacy’, launching in June 2026, pairs fan-favorite writer Dan Abnett and artist Aaron Lopresti as they break new ground for the franchise, exploring the adventures of a modern-day descendant of Zorro in Los Angeles and his quest to live up to his newly-discovered heroic roots in a grounded series perfect for fans of mature street-level stories.

New Kickstarter Campaign - X-O MANOWAR: BLACK, WHITE & GOLD Hardcover
Our final crowdfunding campaign of 2025 is live as Aric of Dacia, the legendary X-O Manowar from Valiant Comics, returns in a new hardcover anthology told in stunning black, white, and gold tones!
Aric of Dacia, a Visigoth warrior with a code of honor, is abducted by aliens and returns to Earth with the Shanhara armor, the most powerful weapon in the universe! But Aric finds that the Earth he returns to is very different from the one he left as over 2000 years have passed him by! This anthology will explore different eras of Aric's past, present, and future from an assortment of perennial favorites and up-and-coming comics talent.

We've got some updates to share on progress for both the Remastered and Indisputable Zorro collections! Short story, things are looking good and we're getting close to being print-ready!
Progress Updates
Remastered Edition: Coloring Approved!
Our team of colorists completed their first pass on new colors for the Remastered edition of Zorro by Alex Toth. The work has been approved by our licensing partners at Zorro Productions, Inc and we're able to share some sample pages below.
Please note that there may be additional changes to the colors by the time we go to print as we go through our complete review process. All images should be considered Not Final.

Indisputable (B&W) Edition: Exploring Options for Restoration
Zorro Indisputable Edition page sample
While compiling the stories in black and white for the Indisputable Edition, we've encountered an issue with a two-page sequence (not pictured) where the original files are not of high enough quality for print in their current condition.
In the interest of providing as complete and comprehensive an experience as possible, we will be remastering this story in a quality that you all deserve and presenting it in black & white / gray tones to match the other stories in the collection.
We'll need to get this restored version completed and approved before we can send out the digital files for the Indisputable version and we're looking forward to sharing another update on our progress very soon.
Digital Files & Printing Timeline
Once the final touches have been put on the B&W and Remastered editions, we'll be able to prepare the files for print and then send out the digital files for both editions via BackerKit.
Our current plan is to send both Zorro books, along with some other crowdfunding projects, to the printer within the next two months so they be shipped to our fulfillment partner in the United States around the same time.
Our fulfillment team will begin shipping out rewards once they receive the copies at their warehouse later this year.

We've got a new crowdfunding campaign launching TOMORROW for a Kickstarter-exclusive box set of four incredible sci-fi graphic novels illustrated by legendary artist Juan Giménez!
An early bird discount will be available for the first 48 hours and if you backed the I, DRAGON campaign from earlier in the year, we've got a secret reward available for you!

Hardcover & Bust Progress Update + Harbinger Omnibus & More!

Busts, Busts, Busts
The many faces of Zorro!
We're checking in with a few quick updates as work continues on both the Kickstarter-exclusive bust and the coloring process for the Remastered Edition!
As you can see in the photos included here, artist Nico Di Mattia is hard at work hand-crafting the Zorro busts!
Once these are all completed, the full batch will be shipped to the United States and processed from there. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek at the creative process!
Coloring Process & PDF Delivery Timeline
The colorist team is working hard to complete their work by the end of August so we can meet our printing deadline.
Once the initial pass on the colors are completed, they'll need to be approved by our licensing partner, and pending any changes, we'll go to print from there on both the Indisputable (B&W) and Remastered (Color) hardcovers.
Once we submit the files to the printer, the digital editions will also be delivered to you via BackerKit.
If we don't run into any unforeseen delays, we anticipate being able to deliver the PDFs by the end of August. We'll keep everyone up-to-date on how things are progressing and let you know if we encounter any speed bumps along the way.
Valiant / Dragon Add-Ons Shipped Early!
Many of you should have received your initial packages containing the VALIANT ORIGINS trade paperbacks and/or the BOOK OF THE DRAGON / FAIRIES & DRAGON hardcovers!

Our newest crowdfunding campaign is in the home stretch!

We're dropping in real quick to share a few updates with you all!
General Progress Update
The team continues to work on coloring the pages throughout the collection and working with the folks at Zorro Productions to produce the best possible hardcover edition for everyone.
We are on schedule and once we have final approvals on new interior pages, we'll be able to share them with you all in our next update.
BackerKit Survey
We're just about finished with setting up the BackerKit survey and you should expect to see it making your way to your inbox this week.
You'll be able to make adjustments and additions to your pledge throughout the survey process. You'll be able to reach out to BackerKit directly for support if you run into any trouble with the survey.
Digital rewards will be sent out through BackerKit, so make sure you answer the survey ASAP when it arrives in your inbox.
New Zorro Bust + Trading Cards Images

If you follow us on social media or subscribe to our weekly newsletter, you may have seen these images already, but in case you haven't, please take a look at this real-life photo of the limited edition Zorro bust by artist Nico Di Mattia!
This bust was on display at Argentina Comic Con a few weeks ago and we can't wait for them to arrive in the United States so we can share more photos!
Zorro Trading Card Artwork
The team has finalized the designs for the Zorro trading card set, which you can take a look at in the image above. If you didn't get the trading cards with your initial pledge, you'll be able to add a set to your order when you fill out the BackerKit Survey.
With fulfillment 98% complete on 'I, DRAGON' and the finishing touches being put on 'BLACK, WHITE & BLOODSHOT' over the next few weeks, we're excited to share that we'll soon be launching a new Valiant Comics crowdfunding campaign!
The classic '90s comic series HARBINGER by Jim Shooter & David Lapham will be collected in one massive hardcover omnibus edition, debuting first on Kickstarter!

What a roller coaster ride it’s been over the past few weeks!
The Zorro campaign has finished its fundraising phase and together with 1781 of you, we’ve raised almost $170k, completely smashing our previous crowdfunding record.
THANK YOU for joining us in bringing these Zorro stories back to print and THANK YOU for the feedback and helping to make this project better along the way.
Next Steps
With the fundraising over, work continues on both the Remastered and Indisputable (B&W) editions of Zorro.
As interiors and Kickstarter rewards get approved and finalized by the team at Zorro Productions, we’ll send out images via the Updates feature so that you all can see how things are progressing.
BackerKit Survey
We’ll be using BackerKit for surveys and fulfillment to keep things moving smoothly.
We anticipate being able to offer special add-ons through BackerKit so if you didn’t see something available during the campaign, stay tuned, as it may be available later.
